Aspley Guise continues to work with Sandringham EdTech as part of the programme. Continuing work is now taking place to move beyond remote learning, with support taking the shape of bespoke CPD, enabling staff to make the most of G Suite for education as well as wider edtech software both within and outside the traditional classroom walls. Staff are already recognising the impact technology can have on student learning and outcomes, alongside the long-term time saving benefits that these tools, once embedded, can have upon reducing workload.

Aspley Guise Lower is a small rural community school for 4–9-year-olds located in the popular village of Aspley Guise. Aiming to discover and develop the best in every child, Aspley Guise is preparing to become a primary school in September 2021. As part of their journey and alongside the impacts and restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, Aspley Guise recognised the important role that edtech could play in supporting students’ outcomes, whilst allowing and enabling teachers to sustain high quality teaching and learning.

As part of the Edtech Demonstrator programme, they initially sought support from Sandringham School in establishing a successful distance learning platform to support students during the pandemic. Initially we were able to run training and support in getting the SeeSaw platform up and running which improved teacher - home communication drastically from the previous lockdown model of emailing work to parents. We went on to offer longer-term strategic support, to ensure that the school was ready to start adopting a sustainable solution for staff collaboration. It was then essential to work with staff to ensure that they were comfortable and skilled in their ability to create and deliver resources via the G Suite for education platform.

“You’ve helped deliver distance learning within the school. You’ve kept the steps manageable for some very anxious staff. We now have a full distance learning platform up and running.”
