Broadclyst Community Primary School (BCPS) has been at the forefront in the use of technology for over 20 years and has an international reputation for its use of IT and digital media in both teaching and learning.
We currently have 4 schools in the Cornerstone Academy Trust, all with a 1:1 device programme throughout. We have used Microsoft Office 365, Teams and OneNote extensively for many years, so are in an excellent position to help schools and colleges to develop their use of technology in education.
The school was selected as an Edtech Demonstrator throughout Phase 1 of the programme, offering advice guidance and training in effective use of technology in education. This included ways technology can be used to support effective remote education arrangements, such as use of digital platforms and devices, as well as considering a long-term digital strategy. We successfully supported over 160 schools and trusts, through upskilling staff in weekly sessions, producing regular informative webinars, and working with leadership teams to plan and implement changes.
Our additional experience of running English, computing and science hubs now allows us to extend virtual support to other schools creating their strategic plan for the use of digital technologies, helping them to develop their use of technology across the curriculum and support and train their teachers. This, combined with our current usage of technology, and the many partners we work with, enables us to support all schools/colleges in the key areas offered by the Edtech Demonstrator Programme.
