Our journey with educational technology

AET's journey with EdTech begin in the summer of 2011, migrating the central Trust team to what was then known as Google Apps for Education. Since then our academies have each forged their own path to the cloud, developing their use of collaboration within school, across the Trust and beyond.

The core of our EdTech ecosystem is Google Workspace which the Trust and our schools have been developing expertise in for almost 10 years.

Prior to the pandemic we had established a network of #innovAETors across the Trust and during the pandemic they were the catalyst that drove deeper and wider use Google and EdTech tools to support collaboration, remote learning and well-being for our schools and the supported schools in the first year of the EdTech Demonstrator Programme.

Support we can offer

Although every programme is designed specifically for the supported school, the suggested timeline to the right gives you a flavour of what you can expect along with example sessions found below and here.

  • Consultancy session to identify requirements and any plan for any gaps;
  • Primary, Secondary and SEND targeted EdTech sessions for teaching and support staff;
  • Technical consultancy to ensure the safe and secure setup of Google Workspace;
  • Supporting accessibility in the delivery of the curriculum to support pupils with SEND and excluded pupils;
  • Safeguarding support and advice with regards to use of different technologies and approaches;
  • Reducing teacher and all staff workload through Google Workspace collaboration;
  • EdTech visioning session focusing on principles and then products.
